The organisers of the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists 2020, scheduled for September 5 - 9 in Prague, Czech Republic, are closely monitoring the situation regarding the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) which has now been declared a pandemic.
The health and wellbeing of our colleagues and patients are paramount and all measures and regulations recommended or imposed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as well as by the Czech Ministry of Health are being implemented. We are especially conscious of the outstanding and essential role of anaesthesiologists caring for patients with COVID-19 throughout the health system, including intensive care, and of our responsibility to ensure that all Congress participants are safe and secure.
At this time, and with over 5 months to go until the Congress, the preparations for WCA 2020 continue as planned. Of course we will constantly monitor this very difficult situation and will issue further information on a regular basis. Please watch this page for announcements.
Advice for the public can be found here.
Guidance for anaesthesia and perioperative care providers can be found here.
