The Czech Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (CSARIM) belongs to the most important medical societies of the Czech Republic. The society has almost 1,000 active members (about 80% of them are practicing anaesthetists).
CSARIM is a respected member of the NASC. CSARIM Chairman, Prof. Karel Cvachovec, was an elected member of the NASC Committee during 2008–2010.
There are 8 national academic centres:
● 3 in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic
● 1 in Pilsen (western Bohemia)
● 1 in Hradec Kralove (eastern Bohemia)
● 1 in Brno (Moravia)
● 1 in Olomouc (Moravia)
● 1 in Ostrava (Moravia)
There are 14 Professors or Associate Professors of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine in the Czech Republic.
The Scientific Committee would have a strong international presence, from both EU and other countries from all over the world. The interests of other WFSA Regional Sections would be respected and they would be invited to suggest the representatives of respective Sections for particular Committees.
