Opening Ceremony, O2 universum - September 1, 2021

The WCA 2021 will be officially opened with the Opening Ceremony & Harold Griffith Lecture starting at 16:00. Afterwards, all participants are kindly invited to take part in the Welcome Cocktail. It is the perfect opportunity to catch up with old acquaintances and network with your colleagues. This is an informal evening prior to the serious scientific discussions.

The Opening Ceremony of the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists 2021 will take place in O2 universum. O2 universum serves as a modern center especially for organizing large international congresses and corporate events. O2 universum was opened in summer 2019.
Admission to the Opening Ceremony is included in the registration fee.

Dinner cruise on the Vltava river, Bohemia Rhapsody boat - September 1, 2021

Faculty dinner, Palác Žofín - September 2, 2021

The Faculty Dinner will take place on Thursday, September 2, at Žofín Palace – a monumental building built on Žofín island in the heart of Prague. Let us take you to the roaring 20s , the decade of jazz, swing, feathers and cabaret, during the ‘Swing Prague evening’. Take the opportunity to have a superb dinner accompanied by the best Czech beer and wine, listen to the great swing orchestra, dance to the electro-swing rhythms or just enjoy the atmosphere.

1920s outfits are more than welcome!

The Žofín Palace in the Renaissance Revival architectural style is one of the most notable architectural treasures. Žofín Palace is used for important social events, conferences, concerts and balls. The Large Hall at Žofín regularly hosts the most prominent personalities from business, politics and the arts in this country and abroad.

Wine Party, Villa Richter - September 3, 2021

On Friday, September 3, we would like to kindly invite you to the Wine Party. The Czech Republic has a long wine growing history and tradition. Wine has been grown and made in the Czech lands for more than twenty centuries.

The Wine party will take place at Villa Richter, a part of the St Wenceslas Vineyard complex at Prague Castle. The neoclassical Villa features a permanent luxury restaurant called Piano Nobile with a sunny terrace overlooking the vineyard. Come and enjoy the best wines in this unique place while listening to a famous Czech quartet.

Beer Party - September 4, 2021

There is an old proverb in the Czech Republic: ‘Kde se pivo vaří, tam se dobře daří.’ It means ‘Where beer is brewed, life is good,’ therefore all participants are kindly invited to the Beer Party on Saturday, September 4. You will experience different types of Czech beer and modern Czech cuisine and good music.

Beer has a long and illustrious history in the Czech Republic. The tradition of brewing beer within the Czech Republic started all the way back in the year 993 in the Břevnov Monastery in Prague. Beer is associated with the Czech Republic just as wine is associated with France and whiskey with Scotland. Pale lager began spreading from the Czech city of Pilsen in the 19th century to become the most popular beer in the world.
