Opening Ceremony, O2 Arena - September 5, 2020The WCA 2020 Congress will be officially opened with the Opening Ceremony & Harold Griffith Lecture starting at 16:00 in the Hall 1. Afterward, all participants are kindly invited to take part in the Welcome Cocktail. It is the perfect opportunity to catch up with old acquaintances and network with your colleagues. This is an informal evening prior to the serious scientific discussions.
The Opening Ceremony of World Congress of Anesthesiology 2020 will take place in the beautiful O2 arena. O2 arena is one of the most modern multi-function arenas in Europe with a capacity of 20,000 seats. It was opened in 2004 for the World Championships in ice hockey. It hosts top sporting and cultural events, and world-renowned music stars regularly perform here.
The registration fee includes entry to Opening Ceremony.
Faculty dinner, Palác Žofín - September 6, 2020The Faculty dinner will take place on Sunday, September 6 at Žofín Palace. The dinner will be in the true Great Gatsby style and take you back to the roaring 1920s, the decade of jazz, swing, feathers and cabaret. Great Gatsby Party outfits are more than welcome!
The Žofín Palace in the Renaissance Revival architectural style is one of the most notable architectural treasures. Žofín Palace is used for important social events, conferences, concerts and balls. The Large Hall at Žofín regularly hosts the most prominent personalities from business, politics and the arts in this country and abroad.

Wine Party, Villa Richter - September 7, 2020On Monday, September 7, we would like to kindly invite you to Wine Party. Czech Republic has a long wine growing history and traditions. Wine has been grown and made in Czech lands for more than twenty centuries. All participants can enjoy wine tasting with unique atmosphere.
Wine party will take place at Villa Richter. Villa Richter is a part of the St Wenceslas Vineyard complex at Prague Castle. The neoclassical Villa features a permanent luxury restaurant called Piano Nobile with a sunny terrace overlooking the vineyard.

Beer Party - September 8, 2020There’s an old proverb in the Czech Republic: ‘Kde se pivo vaří, tam se dobře daří.’ It means ‘Where beer is brewed, life is good,’ for this all participants are kindly invited to Beer Party on Tuesday, September 8. Program includes tasting various types of beer.
Beer has a long and illustrious history in the Czech Republic. The tradition of brewing beer within the Czech Republic started all the way back in the year 993 in the Břevnov Monastery in Prague. Beer is associated with the Czech Republic just as wine is associated with France and whiskey with Scotland. Pale lager began spreading from the Czech city of Pilsner in the 19th century to become the most popular beer in the world.
